Sesame Chicken Buffalo Wings

Sesame Chicken Buffalo Wings

Sesame Chicken Buffalo Wings

This is a delicious mashup of Chinese takeout and a football-watching mainstay. Serve these at your next game watching party and your guests will be happy – messy – but happy.

Ingredients

  • Chicken wings

  • Sesame oil

  • Ginger

  • Garlic

  • Sesame seeds

  • Soy sauce

  • Sriracha chili paste

  • Lime

  • Honey

  • White wine

  • Chives

  • Salt (to taste)

  • Pepper (to taste)

Directions

Start by mincing your garlic and ginger, and create a marinade with all of your ingredients. Coat your chicken thoroughly in the mixture, and marinate it for at least 20-30 minutes (you can marinate this overnight if you like).

Once the wings have marinated, remove the wings from the marinade, and add a bit of corn starch to the marinade and thicken it in a pan over medium heat (this will thicken very quickly).

Brush the wings with the thickened mixture and place them flat on a baking sheet. Next, sprinkle them with sesame seeds, then bake them at 350 degrees for approximately 25-30 minutes.

While your wings are cooking, make a small batch of sauce to spoon onto the finished wings. Mix soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, sriracha, lime, salt, and pepper, and taste it to make sure it’s balanced. You’re just going to drizzle a little over the finished wings, so you don’t have to make a lot.

When the wings are done, let them cool slightly, then drizzle lightly with your sauce, along with a light drizzle of honey. Then, add more sesame seeds as needed, garnish with chopped chives, and enjoy.
